Batch REnew
Split, name, route & clean up scans

Split, name and route scanned files in one step with Batch REnew Software. With barcode recognition, image clean up and blank page detection, Batch REnew adds intelligence and efficiency to your scanning process. Once you try it, you won't know how you scanned without it!

Batch REnew is very easy to use. First, create a profile by choosing image clean up options, a file splitting option - barcodes, blank pages or a numeric interval, then define the file destination. Name and save this information as a re-usable profile that you can assign to any Windows folder and you now have a batch scan process. Read below for more information about each step.

Step 1: Clean up images

Improve the readability of your scans with image clean up and enhancement. Batch REnew software goes beyond image clean up basics to deliver clean and clear scanned files:

  • - Remove borders & crop for consistent margins
  • - Straighten
  • - Remove speckles
  • - Thicken scans that are too light
  • - Smooth characters for better legibility
  • - And more

Step 2: Split, Name and Route Files

Increase scanner throughput with batch scanning. A whole stack of documents can be automatically split into individual files, named using pre-defined naming rules and routed to any network folder or to a folder named using barcode information.

Split Files
There are three options for splitting a scanned file - blank pages, barcodes and numeric intervals.

Blank page splitting uses a "blank page threshold" to ensure an accurate reading of blank pages. If you are using double sided scanning, you may be better off using a numeric interval or barcodes for file splitting.

Splitting at numeric intervals (for example, split every 3 pages) is a good option if the scanned file contains documents with the same number of pages.

Barcode splitting is frequently the best choice as barcode recognition provides additional functionality. Batch REnew can also use the information in the barcode for naming and routing. Read more below.

Name Files
Files can be named using barcodes, text, date, time, page count or any combination of these options. In the file name field, you simply enter exactly how you want the file name created (for example, [barcode1]-[barcode2]-[date]). If barcodes are used, Batch REnew supports using up to ten barcodes and can read barcodes anywhere on a page.

Route Files
Routing is the destination folder for the newly split and named files. This can be any network accessible Windows folder or Batch REnew can also use barcodes for routing. This means that a file can be placed into a folder named using the barcode information associated with that file. If this folder does not exist, Batch REnew will automatically create it.

For example, if you are scanning a batch of invoices with two barcodes. One barcode contains invoice number and one barcode contains customer name. The stack of scanned invoices will be automatically split, named using barcode one (invoice number) and routed to a folder using barcode two (customer name). Not only do you have an efficient batch scanning process, you also have an easy way to locate your scanned files.

Step 3: Processing - Attended or Automated

Batch Renew offers two ways to process scanned files. Folder Watching is fully automated and provides unattended scan processing. Folder Processing allows users to manually assign any profile to a folder of scans for processing.

Automated: Folder Watching (Pro Version Only)
Profiles can be assigned to a "watched folder". Any time a scan arrives in a watched folder, it will be automatically processed using the splitting, naming, routing and image clean up rules defined in the assigned profile. Batch REnew allows five watched folders at a time.

Attended: Folder Processing
Users can assign any profile to any folder for user initiated processing. This allows users to efficiently batch process many different types of scans. Batch REnew supports an unlimited number of profiles.
